❧❦ Makeup Storage and Organization ❦❧

Pretty up your vanity with a clear makeup cube!

I always wanted a Clear Cube makeup holder a'la the Kardashians, but I always thought that for what it is - acrylic squares - it is far too expensive. The original Clear Cube is now $300, and that doesn't include dividers and a handle on the lid!

I purchased some alternative acrylic cubes which you can view here, but that was over a year ago and my makeup collection has increased somewhat since then (shocker!).

After prowling around on the Internet, I found the perfect alternative for me on Ebay.  Within a week, a large box was delivered to my door with a well wrapped makeup cube inside.

And I couldn't be more thrilled.  It's a great and compact way to store makeup, have it easily accessible, and more importantly, visible.  I find that it is often out of sight, out of mind with me and if I'm in a rush I will forget what I have and just grab whatever is closest and I'll completely forget about the rest. And I'm in a rush more often than not.

I found that this cube is a great way to store pigments and odd shaped things like double ended makeup brushes - which are practical to use but a nightmare to wash and store.

Just a note - nail polishes like OPI, China Glaze and some Essie polishes will not be able to stand upright in the drawers.

This particular cube retails for $139.99, and shipping is $20. Less than half the price of the original Clear Cube!

The dividers are removable, and this clear makeup cube comes in different sizes and configurations.  To find out more, click Ebay Clear Acrylic Makeup Cube.

❧❦ July 2012 MyGlam Bag - Circus Nail Color ❦❧

MyGlam Bag July 2012
Buxom Lips Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Gabby
Circus Nail Color by Andrea's Choice
Andrea's Choice Nail Polish
Circus nail color by Andrea's Choice in Somersault
The nail polish is from YT Beauty Guru Andrea's Choice.  I suppose she was inspired by Britney Spears circa 2008...
Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 Moisturizer
NuMe HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner
YESto Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
I'll just say it.  The July MyGlam bag is FABULOUS!  By far the best bag I have received from them so far (including the one I didn't receive that went missing!).

In terms of value, the Buxom Lip Gloss alone is $18 - whereas the whole MyGlam bag only costs $10 (including shipping).  So it's excellent value for month this month.

It was an excellent mix of interesting products, with a pretty yellow (and I really don't like the color yellow) nail polish which is a color that I would never normally buy except for an occasion like Halloween.  I bought a NuMe hair straightener a few months ago using my $100 MyGlam coupon, but I didn't know that they made hair products like conditioner.  So this is why I love beauty sample programs.  Sometimes they really do force you out of your comfort zone and allow you to try products you have never heard of or wouldn't normally buy.

For me, out of three of the beauty sample programs I subscribe to - GlossyBox USA, Birchbox and MyGlam (July editions) - the July MyGlam was by far the best and most exciting to receive.

The July MyGlam bag featured:

Buxom Lips Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Gabby
Circus nail color by Andrea's Choice in Somersault
Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 Moisturizer
NuMe HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner
YESto Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

***UPDATE: I tried out the Somersault Circus nail polish by Andrea's Choice and it is awful!  It's one of the worst nail polish formulas I've ever tried.  It smells strong, it's streaky and it takes a long time to dry.  Not recommended.

❧❦ Why I've been M.I.A. ❦❧

The Sassi Wench
Just a short note to all who read my blog.

I'm really sorry for my extended absence, but my MacBook started having problems in the beginning of June (yes, over 1 month ago!).

Over a month later and after 5 trips to the Apple store - which is nowhere near my house - Apple is FINALLY replacing my MacBook!

Unfortunately, my entire archive of two and a half years of video and photos was on my original MacBook.  We have a backup but because of the problems we had we aren't sure if everything was backed up properly and can be recovered.  I'll cry about that later.

As my MacBook was customized, the new one is on special order but it should be here within the next week or so and then I'll be able to continue blogging!

Funny how things work.  I never realized how much I enjoy blogging until this happened...

B.T.W., I am on Instagram now as SassiWench.

I'll be back soon!

Take care,
